My informed and research based expertise is in working with parents and professionals to overcome organizational systems shortfalls through advocacy and resilience training specifically aimed at better understanding and working with individuals who have autistic spectrum disorders. Autism, high functioning autism, Asperger Syndrome, Pervasive Development Disorder, ADHD, ADD, and Tourette’s Syndrome are all disorders for which I have offered these services. My Ph.D. dissertation study was purposed toward understanding the maternal experiences of raising children diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders and the resulting education, medical, and family systems response. My research in these areas has been well received at numerous conferences and in my consultations with parents and professionals and specifically addresses strategies to alleviate these shortfalls. I have used my expertise to provide keynote addresses at numerous conferences, workshops and seminars, and presentations at statewide and national conferences on numerous topics related to autistic spectrum disorders and confronting systems shortfalls. I have served both parents and professionals as an educational and organizational meeting facilitator, consultant, and trainer. I research organizational and family systems and use this knowledge to help others identify and utilize their strengths to interact more effectively and positively.
