Dr. Sharon Link

Researcher

As a researcher, I comfortably utilize either quantitative or qualitative methods or mixed methods of research to determine significant findings to inform my opinions and presentations. Using the conceptual framework derived from knowing the leader as self, the self operating within organizational systems, and the self operating within global systems, I use this framework to drive my practice with parents and professionals in my research, advocacy, and training.

For my dissertation research, I interviewed mothers of children with Asperger Syndrome and high functioning autism. Through this study, I learned that mothers and professionals need to develop a collaborative and caring team in working with children who live on the spectrum. Raising my own child with Asperger Syndrome, I work closely with professionals to inform my practice.

In collaborating with your organization, I provide you with accurate data upon which to base decisions. In past research projects I have led and managed the collection and assessment of data in collaboration of a wide range of academic and non-academic areas.  I value team-work and partnership as key indicators of success and collegiality. As a researcher, I view myself as a consultant who will report on outcomes in a manner that will support decision making and informed practice adhering to strict deadlines, accurate recordkeeping, and appropriate distribution of data, surveys, and other instruments.

Educator

In an educational capacity, I have worked with both adults and children. When working with groups, I utilize a wide variety of teaching methodologies to engage learners, capture audiences, and work hard to build trust and collaboration in groups I serve. Instructional delivery models that I utilize include on-line, small group, interactive, project planning and presentation, scholarly research, and direct instruction.
